"If you hit the mark, you must aim a little above it: Every arrow that flies feels the attraction of the earth."
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Once you have got your bow tuned up the way you want it, time to sight it in.  This article will show you how to achieve drop-dead accuracy in no time.

It seems that many archers will use whatever target they have to sight-in a bow.  Which is okay, but they will not get results as quickly as using this method.

Use any target that you have just as an arrow stop, on a sheet of paper, 8.5"x11" will do, draw cross lines with a small dot in the middle, just like the image below.  This is what you will aim at.

Tape or pin (attach) the paper to your target.  If you are not much of an artist, click here for a full image that can be printed out using your printer.  Once the image appears, just click the print button on your web browser's tool bar.

The small dot in the middle is your target, aim at it every time.  The cross lines are dividers that show you which way to move your sight pins.  Remember, move your sight in the same direction that your arrow hits.  If your arrow hits high, move your sight up.  If your arrow hits left, move your sight left and visa versa.

The object of this method is to help you concentrate on one spot.  Many archers use a bulls eye to sight-in their bow, which is not a bad method, but it's not the best and fastest way because the center of the bull's eye is too large.  This will cause small variances in your release point.  Aiming at the small dot will eliminate this problem and help you zero-in much quicker.

NOTE:  If you have target panic, fix it first!
