Zenith Pot O' Gold
won in Vegas
Keith, Patriot shoot their way to a $550 payoff

David Keith --
First Pot O' Gold Winner |
(Feb. 23, 2002) Pending any other claims to the prize and verification of witnesses, it looks like the
inaugural Zenith Pot O' Gold prize, worth $550, has gone to David Keith for shooting a winning score of 899
in the Unlimited Freestyle Flights Division at the World Archery Festival in Las Vegas Feb. 21 – 23.
Keith, of Kentucky, must be kind of shy though. After someone had informed Zenith Archery about his win, an unknown competitor (unknown at the time) went to the Zenith Archery booth
and started asking some questions about the Pot O' Gold entry form. A Zenith Archery staff member told him a guy named David Keith had won the Pot and he said, "That's me."
Keith, a Zenith shooter since Aug. 2002, used his Four-Finger Patriot model to turn the trick. "It's the best release I've ever shot," Keith said.
Jesse Broadwater, shooting a Two-Finger Brass Zenith, landed second place for the second year in a row in the World Archery Festival Championship Division. Great shooting, Jess!
In the World Archery Festival Senior Unlimited Division, Glenn Campbell, of Michigan, shot his way to a strong third place finish a big step up the ladder for him.
Campbell, shooting a Three-Plus Patriot, said it took him a "long time to break away from an index-finger release because of the old ‘punch in the mouth’ myth." Campbell now reports that archery is more fun for him than ever. And no, this Glenn Campbell is not the oldies country music star with a guitar.
