BowTech G3 Bow
Shorter draw length, slower arrow speed
until now.
 |
| BowTech G3 resigned for 2002. |
It is common knowledge that archers with short draw lengths get lower arrow speeds. Short arms mean short-draw lengths, which translate to short power strokes. With IBO speeds in the 290-300
f.p.s. range at 30-inch draw/70 lbs. using 350-grain arrows, how could a person with a 27-inch draw and 60 lbs. ever compete? Well, I am here to tell you
BowTech has done it!
With the new G3, BowTech has done something no one in this industry has done, to the best of my knowledge. Its G3 technology,
37 3/8-inch axle-to-axle length, longer pro-series riser, lower limb pocket angle and longer brace length, give this bow speed like you cannot believe.
The force multiplier wheel construction with a machined aluminum cam mounted inside the riser, just above the lower limb, give this bow an incredible force without a lot of additional weight and it zips an arrow faster then one can imagine!
This is one of the best bows on the planet today.

The tests
Using a G3 at 60 lbs. and 27-inch draw shooting a 27-inch, 323-grain carbon arrow, the bow generated 286-287 feet-per-second. Using the same bow setup with a lighter arrow weighing 299 grains, the bow spit the arrow out at
297-298 feet-per-second. Now think of this
the is set three inches shorter in draw length, 10 lbs. lighter in draw weight, with the same weight arrow
(323 gr.) as the big boys and it shoots basically the same speeds.
Does the force-multiplier work? You Bet! Smooth? Well, I want to tell you, this one-cam bow pulls back smoother than almost any other bow out there in its class. If you have a short draw and think you need speed, then this bow is for you.
Some bow companies say, "Catch us". BowTech says, "See you later".

As you can see this bow smokes. Especially, at 60 lbs. and short draw lengths. We did not test it at 70 lbs. but if we did
let me take a guess 310+ feet-per-second? Maybe?
The one draw back (excuse the pun) is the retail price of $699.99. It falls in the higher notch level, but what you get is higher quality than most. You also get a warranty that does not say "lifetime". What is lifetime? I like BowTech's wording, "If it ever breaks, we fix it." This bow shoots so fast; the arrow gets there before you can say, "GEE WHIZZZZZZZZZ."
