Spyder S4

The flexibility of the Spyder makes it a great bow for growing kids.

Spring 2000 — The original members of the Red Springs Hunting Club have decided to take down our "NO GIRLS ALLOWED !!" sign and allow members of the opposite sex to join us.

During the spring of 2000 one of the female members began to show some interest in bow hunting.  We decided to research the availability of legal hunting bows made for the small frame archer and found that the selection is rather limited.

We narrowed our bows of choice by manufacturer reliability, light weight, short ATA length, short draw length, smooth shooting and price.

We made our decision from three bows: Parker - Challenger, Parker Junior-Mag, PSE - Spyder S4.  The Parker bows were impressive but were a little out of our price range for a beginner.  The PSE Spyder S4 was priced just right and had the perfect feature line-up that we were looking for.  Its short 32-inch ATA length and light weight seemed to fit our female archer just perfect.

The bow has an aluminum machined riser, hand friendly plastic grip, and smooth shooting Synergy 4 cams.  The 65 percent let-off allows for a smooth draw without a radical break-over when coming to peak draw.  The riser is equipped to accept any AMO standard accessories.

We have our bow equipped with a Whisker Biscuit arrowrest, Toxonics sights, bow sling, kisser button, peep, PSE stabilizer, custom Muzzy string, and a served nock.  The bow makes virtually no noise when shot and is very smooth.

For the beginner or even advanced small frame archer, this bow is difficult to top because of its price and features.  The bow is even more attractive with respect to young archers because the bow allows them to grow without changing bows.  With a 5.5-inch draw-length adjustment range and draw weights 15 to 40 pounds, the bow can change with the young archer's needs for several years.
