For those of you who like a "surprise" shot but have trouble shooting a back-tension release, the SCAT JS just may be the release for you. The SCAT JS release resembles a caliper style release but functions much like a back-tension. The difference is — you don't have to do anything exception let go of the trigger to get it to fire. That's right, you let go of the trigger. Sound a little funny? Read on. In fact, you do pretty much just the opposite as you would normally do with a caliper release, with respect to pulling the trigger. With a caliper release, you pull the trigger to open the jaws and load the string, and then depress the trigger to lock. When you are ready to fire, you simply squeeze the trigger. With the SCAT JS, you first load the string, then you pull the trigger. Yes, you read correctly, pull the trigger. This locks the jaws in the closed position. Once you have the jaws locked by pulling the trigger, you can then draw your bow to take aim. Remember you still have pressure on the trigger with your finger while you draw your bow. All you have to do then is zero-in on your target, let go of the trigger and wait. The SCAT JS is filled with hydraulic fluid and when the trigger is pulled, pressure is created. When the trigger is let go the hydraulic pressure will slowly push the trigger to the point where the jaws will open, releasing the string. This is where the "surprise" happens, also known as the "perfect shot." The beauty of this release is not having to worry about pulling the trigger to fire -- it does it for you. All your attention will be focused on the target. This release isn't just for competition and practice, works for hunting as well. The V-strap and shape of the release resembles that of popular caliper style release. The release can be adjusted to fire as soon as you remove your finger from the trigger. The release-time adjustment is 0 to 6 seconds. Product features and overview
